Ecotourism pioneer Ker & Downey Botswana is set to expand its luxury offerings with the opening of Grays Eden, a boutique hotel in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta.
Opening on July 15, Grays Eden is a collaboration between Ker & Downey and Maun residents Sandrine and Sam Morris. The 12-room hotel is located on the banks of the Thamalakane River and promises a tranquil and upscale experience for travelers visiting the Okavango Delta.
The hotel's design blends modern minimalism with natural elements, featuring thatched roofs, high ceilings and large verandas overlooking the river. Guests can choose from five villas and seven cottages, each individually decorated with a light and airy feel. Amenities include ceiling fans, fireplaces and spacious en-suite bathrooms.
An on-site restaurant will showcase local cuisine by a renowned chef. There will also be a wine cellar, a pool and in-room spa services. Guests will also have access to complimentary airport transfers.
The opening will give Ker & Downey Botswana five camps in the country. The others are in the Okavango Delta (Kanana and Shinde/Shinde Enclave/Shinde Footsteps), the Moremi Wildlife Reserve (Okuti) and within the central Kalahari (Dinaka). Learn more at the Ker & Downey Botswana website.
