Accommodations range from very nice first-class properties in the major cities to YMCAs/YWCAs (Port Moresby), guest houses, thatched-roof bungalows and extremely basic hotels. Though accommodations can be expensive (more than US$100 for a double in a tourist-class hotel), we generally recommend staying in as deluxe a property as possible to minimize the potential for problems.
