Windstar will resume sailing in Alaska and Japan in 2026 aboard a new ship, the Star Seeker, which it expects to be delivered in December 2025.
The cruise line last sailed in Alaska and Japan in 2023 before it redeployed the Star Breeze to cruise year-round in Tahiti.
The Star Seeker will sail seven-, 10 and 11-day cruises in Alaska from May through August between Juneau or Seward and Vancouver. The line will also offer pre- and post-cruise land tours to Denali.
The Alaska cruises will include expedition leaders like it did in 2023. Guests can book active excursions like hiking, kayaking and skiff expeditions in small groups and can hear presentations from expedition leaders about the state's history, culture, flora and fauna.
The Star Seeker will leave Alaska in late August and head to Japan to sail 10-day voyages there between Tokyo and Osaka through November.
The itineraries will be viewable and dates bookable in early August 2024.
The Star Seeker is one of two 224-guest ships Windstar is adding to its fleet. The second ship, the Star Explorer, will be delivered one year later in December 2026.
