A wildfire that has closed Denali National Park and Preserve has also interrupted operations at Holland America Line's McKinley Chalet Resort.

The Riley fire was first reported on Sunday afternoon and has grown to more than 350 acres in size, according to the Bureau of Land Management Alaska Fire Service. The fire was 5% contained as of Monday night.

Not only is the park entrance closed but the resort is experiencing service disruptions as power outages spread across the region, according to Holland America Line.

The cruise line said there was no threat to the safety of guests, team members or the property while local authorities work to restore power. A spokesman said he was not sure if any guests were still at the resort.

For guests scheduled to arrive within the next week, the line is assessing whether cruise tours can happen.
