Coffee lovers should take note that the 54th Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is happening Nov. 1 through Nov. 10 on the Big Island of Hawaii. Hawaii's oldest food festival, it began in 1970.

The festival starts Friday night, Nov. 1, with a lantern parade along historic Kailua Village's Alii Drive. Then, on Nov. 2, the arts district of Holualoa Village is hosting a coffee tasting with roasts more than 30 farms. 

Additionally, throughout the duration of the festival, coffee farms will be giving tours, on which visitors can learn the coffee-making process from bean to cup. The whole event culminates with a day-long hoolaulea (celebration). Musicians, coffee farms and crafters will be on hand, and there will be demonstrations, samplings and coffee for purchase.
